Not Your Traditional Assisted-Stretching

A Nervous System Centered Approach

FST works with the nervous system, not against it. By encouraging relaxation rather than stimulation, the body becomes receptive to change. Breath is integrated into every movement as it calm the nervous system, increase body awareness, and help identify and release deeply held tension patterns. This breath-guided approach allows release to occur without force, guarding, or pain.

From the Inside Out

Rather than stretching only surface muscles, Fascia Stretch Therapy™ prioritizes working from deep within the body outward. Sessions begin at the joint capsule and deep stabilizing muscles, which often hold the root of restriction. When these deeper layers release, the rest of the body naturally follows, creating global ease and improved mobility.

Traction for Decompression & Mobility

A core component of FST is joint traction, a gentle method that opens and decompresses the joint capsule, improves joint mobility and alignment, releases adhesions in connective tissue, and reduces joint “jamming” and compression. This creates space within the joint, allowing movement to feel fluid, supported, and pain-free.

Neurological Re-Education for Lasting Results

FST incorporates a contract-relax PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) technique, which works with the body’s neurological reflexes to safely increase range of motion. This method allows flexibility gains to last longer by teaching the nervous system that greater mobility is safe and sustainable.

Why FST Is Different

Many people stretch beyond their body’s needs and often through pain, which can trigger resistance rather than release. This commonly leads to the rebound effect, where muscles tighten again shortly after stretching. The rebound effect may occur when stretching is too aggressive, the body re-contracts through the same pathway immediately, there is a buildup of waste products or tissue congestion. FST avoids this entirely by working without pain, honoring the nervous system, and allowing the body to soften rather than defend.

What is Fascia?

Fascia Stretch Therapy™ focuses on the neuromyofascial system, not just isolated muscles, because the body is an interconnected whole. Neuro referring to nervous tissue. Myo referring to the muscle tissue. Fascia being the connective tissue network that surrounds muscles, bones, joints, nerves, and organs.

Fascia provides structure, support, communication, and protection throughout the body. It exists in three primary layers: Superficial fascia just beneath the skin, deep fascia surrounding muscles and joints (including myofascia), subserous fascia supporting and suspending organs within their cavities. By addressing fascia, FST supports the body globally by improving movement, circulation, coordination, and overall ease.
